Three scheduled maintenance windows. The official times are in Australian time and here they fall on the previous day. One of the three falls right on the Australian clock change and is ambiguous: we explain it.

The Department announced that ImmiAccount will be unavailable during three time slots. They are published in Australian time, which is 13 or 14 hours ahead, so in Latin America all three fall on the previous day. They are converted below.
If you have an application in progress, during those hours you won't be able to log in to view it or upload documents.
Tuesday 29 September, from 16:00 to 19:00. (The notice publishes it as Wednesday 30, from 5 to 8 in the morning AEST.)
Saturday 3 October, from 11:00 to 14:00. (Published as Sunday 4, from 1 to 4 in the morning AEDT.)
Tuesday 6 October, from 15:00 to 18:00. (Published as Wednesday 7, from 5 to 8 in the morning AEDT.)
The same hours apply to Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Paraguay. In Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, subtract 2 hours; in Bolivia and Venezuela, 1; in Mexico, 3. In Spain, add 5.
The notice says that window runs from 1 to 4 in the morning AEDT, Australian daylight saving time. The problem is that daylight saving starts that same day at 2 in the morning: at 1, when the window starts, the Sydney clock still shows AEST.
If you read the label literally, the window starts at 11:00 Argentina time. If you read the actual clock at that moment, at 12:00. The end, 4 in the morning, is already AEDT in both readings and falls at 14:00.
That is why we publish the full slot, from 11:00 to 14:00: it covers both interpretations. This conversion is ours, not the Department's.
Anyone with an application in progress who needs to log in to view it or upload documents. If you were asked for additional information with a deadline, it's best not to leave the upload for those hours.
Anyone waiting for their country's quota to reopen in order to apply: during maintenance you also can't start an application.
The notice clarifies that more online services are affected besides ImmiAccount, and refers to the Department's System Maintenance page for the full list.

Abroad, getting sick is more than a bad day. In many destinations public healthcare depends on appointments, queues and availability, and private care is paid upfront. An emergency can cost thousands of USD, right when you are far from home and on a tight budget. That is why I recommend you never leave without travel assistance.
I recommend GO! Assistance because it covers what matters: medical care, emergencies, medication and hospitalization depending on the plan. It protects you 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world, with real-time solutions on the ground. GO! 365 ECO and GO! 365 give you USD 45,000 of global coverage: the first with a USD 100 deductible, the second with none.
If you quote from Argentina, in October GO! also offers 12 interest-free instalments on selected products.

I have never been left without internet on a trip. I land and my phone connects to the strongest network in the country I am visiting: I can let people know I arrived, sort out transport, book tours and keep posting content at a super affordable price (really cheap!). I always use the Maya Mobile eSIM, check out its plans by clicking the banner. See Maya Mobile plans →

When you work in another country, sooner or later you will want to send money home: to help your family, cover a bill or put your savings away. That is what I use Remitly for, and why I recommend it. It is very fast: it connects to any local account in your home country and the money arrives in minutes.
You can choose between different ways to send, depending on what suits you, and the fees are low. On top of that, my ambassador code AMB6M8 gets you USD 20 off your first transfer. It applies to transfers from the countries where Remitly operates, so check in the app whether the code works in yours before you send.
