Argentines do not use the WHS online eForm; the application starts in person at the embassy with the paper form 9561 ('Application for admission and residence for a Working Holiday'), which is the specific one for Argentina, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Uruguay. It is in English/Dutch and includes an antecedents appendix. Here is how to fill it in step by step and how to answer the key fields.
Application platform: IND form 9561, submitted in person at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Buenos Aires (appointment via VFS Global). It is not a 100% online process for Argentines..
🪜 Step by step
1
Download the correct form 9561
Download form 9561 from
ind.nl/en/forms/9561.pdf. Check that it is the current year's version (the header shows the year, e.g. '2026'). It is the form for Argentines: do not use form 7520, which is for other nationalities.
2
Print it and fill it in clearly
You can print it in colour or black and white. Fill it in with block capitals or typed, in English, with no crossings-out. Every detail must match your passport EXACTLY.
3
Personal details
Enter your family name(s) and given names exactly as they appear in your passport, date and place of birth, sex, citizenship (Argentine) and marital status.
4
Passport details (Travel document)
Passport number, issue and expiry dates, issuing authority. Check that not a single digit is different: it is the mistake that causes the most delays.
5
Purpose of stay
State that it is a Working Holiday (cultural exchange). Confirm that this is the first time you are taking part in the programme.
6
Contact details and address
Your address in Argentina and an email you check often: notices from the embassy/VFS arrive that way. If you already have an expected address in the Netherlands, add it.
7
Estimated date of entry
Enter a realistic date of entry to the Netherlands: it is used to calculate the validity of the MVV and the permit.
8
Antecedents appendix (Antecedents Certificate)
Sign the declaration that you have no criminal record or pending cases. Lying or omitting information can lead to rejection. If they ask for it, add the certificate from the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia.
9
Declaration and signature
Read the final declarations, confirm that the information is true and sign with the same signature as in your passport. Check EVERYTHING before the appointment.
10
Bring the form to the appointment
Do not send it by email: it is submitted in person on the day of the appointment at the embassy, together with your passport, photos, proof of funds and health insurance.
⚠️ Common mistakes to avoid
- Using the wrong form (7520 instead of 9561, which is the one for Argentina).
- Entering a passport name, number or dates that differ from those in the document.
- Not signing the antecedents appendix or leaving mandatory fields blank.
- Submitting photos that do not meet the Dutch standard (size 35x45 mm, background, framing).
- Not proving your funds properly (statements without a name, without a date or in a third party's name without explanation) or your return ticket.
- Arriving at the appointment without health insurance arranged or without having paid the €85 fee within the stated deadline.

🛡️ Getting sick far from home shouldn't cost you thousands of USD
Abroad, getting sick is more than a bad day. In many destinations public healthcare depends on appointments, queues and availability, and private care is paid upfront. An emergency can cost thousands of USD, right when you are far from home and on a tight budget. That is why I recommend you never leave without travel assistance.
I recommend GO! Assistance because it covers what matters: medical care, emergencies, medication and hospitalization depending on the plan. It protects you 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world, with real-time solutions on the ground. GO! 365 ECO and GO! 365 give you USD 45,000 of global coverage: the first with a USD 100 deductible, the second with none.
If you quote from Argentina, in October GO! also offers 12 interest-free instalments on selected products.
