Unlike other countries, the Danish application is NOT completed on a web portal: you use the paper WH1 form, specific to citizens of Argentina. There are two versions: one in Word (filled in on screen and then printed) and one in PDF (printed and filled in by hand). It is completed in English and submitted signed, in person, at VFS Buenos Aires. Here is how to complete it step by step, along with the key fields.
Application platform: WH1 form (printed) of the Danish Immigration Service / SIRI, submitted at VFS Global Buenos Aires.
🪜 Step by step
1
Download the correct WH1 (Argentina)
Go to the 'Working Holiday - Argentina' page on
nyidanmark.dk and download the WH1 form for Argentina. Make sure you use the form for your country: there is one per nationality, and using the wrong one delays the application.
2
Choose the Word or PDF version
You fill in the Word version on the computer before printing (neater and more legible). The PDF version has to be printed and filled in by hand in clear block letters. In both cases, you sign on paper at the end.
3
Personal information
Enter your full name EXACTLY as it appears in your passport, date of birth, citizenship (Argentina) and passport number. Any difference from the passport can hold up the application.
4
Contact details
Give your address in Argentina, email and phone number. Use an email you check often: it is where they will contact you about the decision or any SIRI requests.
5
Period and purpose of stay
State that you are applying under the Working Holiday scheme, with a main purpose of holiday and supplementary work. The stay is 12 months from entry, non-renewable.
6
Funds and insurance
Declare that you have the required funds (DKK 15,000 + DKK 5,000, or DKK 20,000) and health insurance. You then back this up with the attachments (bank statement and policy).
7
Character questions / criminal record
Answer the questions about criminal records and previous stays honestly. Omitting or falsifying information is grounds for refusal.
8
Sign the form
Sign by hand in the space provided. The form is not valid without a signature. If you filled in the Word version, print it out and only then sign it.
9
Book an appointment at VFS and submit everything in person
Book an appointment at VFS Global Buenos Aires and bring the signed WH1, your passport, the copies, proof of funds, health insurance and proof of payment. At VFS they take your photo and fingerprints (biometrics).
⚠️ Common mistakes to avoid
- Using a WH1 for another nationality instead of the form specific to Argentina.
- Entering a name or passport number that differs from the one in the document.
- Submitting old proof of funds (more than 30 days) or funds that are not liquid assets.
- Not bringing health insurance in English/a Nordic language, or with insufficient cover (no hospitalisation).
- Believing you can apply online: the application is IN PERSON at VFS Buenos Aires, by appointment.
- Applying when the quota for the period is already used up, instead of waiting for the next round.

🛡️ Getting sick far from home shouldn't cost you thousands of USD
Abroad, getting sick is more than a bad day. In many destinations public healthcare depends on appointments, queues and availability, and private care is paid upfront. An emergency can cost thousands of USD, right when you are far from home and on a tight budget. That is why I recommend you never leave without travel assistance.
I recommend GO! Assistance because it covers what matters: medical care, emergencies, medication and hospitalization depending on the plan. It protects you 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world, with real-time solutions on the ground. GO! 365 ECO and GO! 365 give you USD 45,000 of global coverage: the first with a USD 100 deductible, the second with none.
If you quote from Argentina, in October GO! also offers 12 interest-free instalments on selected products.
