Qué cuenta y qué no. Para la Working Holiday Extension Work Visa sólo cuenta el trabajo estacional en horticultura o viticultura: plantar, mantener, cosechar o empacar cultivos. No cuentan los viveros ni el procesamiento o la manufactura de alimentos. El trabajo no tiene que ser continuo ni con el mismo empleador, y se acredita con cartas del empleador y recibos: guardá todo desde el primer día.
Y cuando ya tenés los tres meses. La Working Holidaymaker Extension Work Visa cuesta desde NZD 800, se pide estando dentro del país y se otorga una sola vez por persona. Immigration New Zealand resuelve el 80 % de los casos dentro de las 2 semanas. Además de los tres meses de trabajo hay que acreditar buena salud y carácter, fondos suficientes e intención genuina de irte al vencer. El criterio es el de Immigration New Zealand, no el nuestro: si la empresa sólo procesa alimentos, o si su propio sitio dice que no toma gente con visa temporaria, no sirve para la extensión y no entra en la lista.
